The Department of National Defence (DND) plans to conduct a simulated fuel spill exercise on July 10 from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at navy's Colwood Fuelling Facility and Esquimalt Harbour.
The community may hear increased and short intermittent alarms, DND said in a news release.
This full-scale exercise will be led by CFB EsquimaltB次元官网网址檚 Port Operations and Emergency Services Branch and include spill response boats, protection booms and fuel skimmers.
Spill exercises such as this are part of the baseB次元官网网址檚 ongoing role and commitment to being a responsible and dedicated steward of the marine environment.
